Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hosted a dinner in honour of the national cricket team and management ahead of the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The dinner was held at a local hotel in Islamabad, where Naqvi met and interacted with the players and members of the team management.
The first T20I of the series will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 9, followed by the second and third matches at the same venue on October 11 and 13. The series marks the beginning of Pakistan’s new T20 setup, with Sahibzada Farhan appointed as the national team’s new captain. Farhan recently led Pakistan at the Asian Games, where the team finished runners-up after a narrow defeat to India in the final.
Sri Lanka will be led by Kusal Mendis. Mike Hesson is serving as Pakistan’s head coach for the series, while Shaun Tait, Michael Smith and Mansoor Amjad are part of the coaching staff.
Pakistan’s 15-member squad comprises Sahibzada Farhan, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, Muhammad Imran Randhawa, Khawaja Nafay, Maaz Sadaqat, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Saim Ayub, Muhammad Salman Mirza, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem. Pakistan will be looking to make a winning start to the home series against Sri Lanka under the new T20 leadership.
