The Pakistan national cricket team has departed from Karachi for Dhaka the capital of Bangladesh to play a three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh.
All three matches of the series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the National squad for the One Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh national cricket team.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is the captain in the 50 overs format as Pakistan gears up for a three-match series in Dhaka between March 11 and 15.
The matches will be hosted at the iconic Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket stadium which is known for its crunch contests between the two sides.
The 15 member squad consists of Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat, Moaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Wasim Junior, Mohammad Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha and Shamil Hussain.
The squad gives Pakistan a mix of experienced campaigners as well as upcoming stars as the focus is on building momentum in the ODI format for Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the team has experienced a major blow for the tour. Aggressive opener Fakhar Zaman is ruled out from the series because of injury in his hamstring.
Fakhar had recently played a brilliant and attacking innings against Sri Lanka national cricket team in the ICC T20 world cup and played an important role in the victory of Pakistan.
However, he apparently suffered from a hamstring injury during the match. Subsequent medical examinations confirmed the injury, which forced him out of the upcoming ODI series.
The first ODI will be played on March 11 and will be followed by the second on March 13 and the final match on March 15 and all three will be played at the same venue.
