Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski will visit Pakistan on Oct 23–24 for one on one and delegation level meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, with both sides set to cover the full range of bilateral cooperation.
Agenda and meeting format
According to the FO, Sikorski is coming at Ishaq Dar’s invitation for his second official trip to Pakistan, the first having taken place in 2011.
During the visit, the two ministers will first meet privately and then lead their teams for formal talks.
Moreover, the agenda is broad by design.
It includes political ties, trade and investment, defence cooperation, educational exchanges and people to people links.
Afterwards, the two delegations plan to brief the press together, underscoring the importance they attach to transparency and follow through.
In addition, officials describe the visit as a milestone moment for relations that have steadily expanded in recent years.
Economic ties growing in recent years
Meanwhile, trade has become a steady pillar.
In 2023, bilateral commerce reached 922 million dollars. Pakistan exported goods worth 794 million dollars to Poland, while imports from Poland totalled 128 million dollars.
These figures point to room for growth in both directions.
Therefore, talks in Islamabad are expected to look at ways to diversify the basket beyond traditional products. Which includes improving logistics and payments, and encourage business to business contacts.
Moreover, both governments see stable energy supplies, industrial inputs and Agri-food standards as practical areas where quick progress can be made.
Pakistan’s growing diplomatic engagement
The visit follows the ninth round of Bilateral Political Consultations held in Warsaw in July, where the two sides reviewed ties across all sectors and agreed to deepen cooperation through high level visits, parliamentary engagement and structured dialogue.
With that groundwork in place, the Islamabad meetings aim to convert intent into timelines and projects.
Meanwhile, both capitals frame the relationship as cordial and mutually beneficial, with Pakistan reiterating its commitment to closer cooperation with Poland for shared economic opportunity, human capital development and long term stability.
