ISLAMABAD: The federal Cabinet has okayed a new visa clearance system to provide ease and expedite the visa process for Pakistani nationals.
As per details, the approval was made on the recommendation of the Ministry of Interior, to provide a transparent and secure mechanism for acquiring visas.
The latest development will also make the process faster and transparent for those travelling abroad, according to an official statement. The new system will protect citizens from an increasing number of visa scams in Pakistan.
Officials highlighted that the system will not only increase transparency but also make visa processing faster, benefiting both individuals and the authorities involved.
Pakistan launches 24/7 passport monitoring system
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has launched a new digital system to moniter passport applications, printing, and deliveries in real time.
Pakistan’s Passport Department, in a social media post, announced that the new system will provide faster processing and improved service for passport applicants across Pakistan and abroad.
The system has a 24/7 monitoring room at its headquarters on the instructions of DG Immigration and Passports Mustafa Jamal Kazi.
The initiative will permit the authorities to keep an eye on every stage of passport processing, from the first step to the final stage of delivery, and automatically identify high-traffic periods at passport offices.
The Digital Integrated Dashboard will also monitor staff performance, machinery status, and backlogs, to immediately resolve issues as they arise.
“This modern monitoring system will enhance the performance of DGIP, ensuring that both the officers’ and staff’s efficiency, as well as the citizens’ experience, are closely tracked,” Kazi said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan’s passport has entered the list of the world’s top 100 passports after a marked improvement in its global ranking,

According to details, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the global ranking of Pakistan’s passport has improved significantly while answering questions in the National Assembly. Adding that it has now become one of the top 100 passports in the world.
The Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs said that this achievement is the result of reforms and technical improvements made by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
