Pakistan act as a peace messenger

Pakistan has announced visa-free entry for journalists attending the Islamabad Talks, extending the facility to all delegates travelling from participating countries.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar took to X, saying that airlines have been instructed to allow boarding to eligible travellers even without a visa. Upon arrival in Islamabad, immigration authorities will issue visas on arrival, ensuring smooth entry for media representatives and other delegates.

US-Iran peace talks

Pakistan was successful in brokering a ceasefire between the two sides. It was an effort made by the PM, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on behalf of Pakistan.

Pakistan is also set to host talks between the US and Iran on Friday this week, on April 10, 2026.

Islamabad talks: Pakistan in spotlight

According to the sources from the Information Ministry of Pakistan, many representatives of the international media wish to visit the country for the Islamabad talks 2026.

According to the details, the External Publicity wing is occupied with facilitating the foreign media on the matter.

However, foreign journalists say that they are facing problems in getting visas to Pakistan to attend the April 10 Islamabad talks between the US and Iran.

PM Shehbaz meets Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in the Prime Minister’s office. PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir urged the US and Iran to stay calm for the peace and stability in the region.

Both PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir showed commitment to work for peace and stability in the region, adding that both leaders will continuously work for peace talks between the US and Iran.

PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir also praised the patience shown by the US and Iran.  

The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue its mediation role for lasting peace in the region.

Prime Minister’s Office wrote on X, “Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), COAS & CDF called on the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office. The dignitaries reviewed the progress of Pakistan’s mediatory efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
