FAISALABAD: Pakistan is eyeing a series win against South Africa in 2nd ODI of the three-match One Day Internationals in Faisalabad.

As per details, the men in green have won the toss and opted to bat first in the second One Day International (ODI) at Iqbal Stadium.

South Africa Beat Pakistan in 2nd ODI

South Africa levelled the series 1–1 after defeating Pakistan by eight wickets in the second ODI, thanks to a brilliant century by Quinton de Kock.

The match was played at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium, where Pakistan, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, set a target of 270 runs.

The Proteas chased it down comfortably on the first ball of the 41st over, losing only two wickets.

Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on 123 runs, while Tony de Zorzi scored 76 and Luan-dre Pretorius contributed 46 runs.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 269 runs for nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz played key innings, each scoring a half-century.

Salman made a fifty off 82 balls with three fours, while Nawaz struck 56 runs from 56 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes. Saim Ayub added 53 runs to the total.

Saim Ayub Scores Second Half-Century in ODI

The second ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh is underway at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad. After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bat but got off to a disappointing start.

Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan fell early, leaving Pakistan struggling at 22 for 3 in the first five overs.

Fans witnessed a Test-like pace in the ODI match. Saim Ayub scored a Second Half-Century in One Day Internationals, showing a responsible batting performance.

Pakistan reached 120 for 5 with senior players showing a more responsible approach.

Separately, reports suggest that the issue of the Asia Cup trophy may also be raised in the upcoming ICC meeting.

Earlier, Pakistan beat South Africa by two wickets in the first One Day International (ODI).

Pakistan successfully chased a target of 264 runs, with Salman Agha scoring 62 runs. South Africa had started well but lost momentum and were all out for 263.

In the first match of the three-match ODI series at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, Pakistan defeated South Africa by 2 wickets, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

Pakistan reached the target in the 49th over with strong batting performances chasing 264 runs.

Pakistan and South Africa have faced each other 88 times in One Day Internationals. The Proteas have won 52 matches, while Pakistan has secured 35 victories. Notably, one match ended without a result.

All tickets for the three One-Day Internationals between Pakistan and South Africa at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, have been sold out.

Cricket fans showed great enthusiasm as international cricket returned to Faisalabad after 17 years. The stadium is expected to be packed for all three matches.
