Google unveils Pakistan’s top search trends for 2025: see details

Web desk: What did Pakistanis search for most on Google? Google has released its Year in Search 2025 report. The report outlines what Pakistanis searched for most throughout the year.

Cricket once again dominated Pakistan’s search trends. It reaffirmed its position as the country’s leading source of entertainment content.

Online interest remained high in cricket. There were repeated searches for matches against South Africa, India and New Zealand.

Among the top tournaments, the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Asia Cup and ICC Champions Trophy led the charts.

Fans continued to follow emerging cricketers closely. Players such as Abhishek Sharma, Hassan Nawaz and Irfan Khan Niazi rank among the most-searched sports personalities of the year.

Dramas remained a major attraction, with popular titles such as Judwaan and Aaspas driving high search volumes.

Searches related to news, technology, cooking tips and “how-to” guides also surged throughout the year.

Interest in artificial intelligence grew significantly. AI tools such as Gemini, On4t and Google AI Studio are among the top technology-related searches.

Streaming apps like myco and Tamasha also saw increased activity.

Pakistanis frequently searched for information on national issues.

This includes updates on floods in Karachi and alerts related to the rising water level of the Chenab River.

Searches for government initiatives were also prominent, such as the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry and the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme 2025.

FBISE updates and exam results continued to draw significant interest as well.

Among the recipe searches, popular queries included mutton, beef, sweets, flour-based dishes and soups.

Also, growing interest in quinoa, tofu and sandwiches could also be seen.

Additionally, E-challans in Karachi emerged as one of the most-searched how-to topics. Users seemed to be keen to understand the new traffic enforcement system.

Searches also included investment guidance, indicating rising interest towards business initiatives. Topics such as taking “Ghibli-style” photographs were also very popular this year.
