The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken disciplinary action against fast bowler Naseem Shah, issuing him a show-cause notice for allegedly violating the terms of his central contract and the board’s media policy.
According to sources, the PCB has directed Naseem Shah to submit his response within a specified time frame. The board will determine further action based on his explanation.
It is worth mentioning that on Thursday, a controversial post was shared from Naseem Shah’s account on X regarding the arrival of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at Gaddafi Stadium during the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League.
According to the PCB, professional standards, adherence to contracts and the reputation of the game will be maintained at all costs.
Sources revealed that if the allegations are proven, Naseem Shah’s central contract could be in jeopardy. He is currently included in Category C of the PCB’s central contract.
It is worth noting that yesterday, Naseem Shah criticised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz over her visit to Gaddafi Stadium in a social media post. He later deleted the post, claiming that his account had been hacked and has since been recovered.
