Pakistan’s national cricketers will receive No Objection Certificates (NOCs) on August 19 to participate in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
According to sources, the CPL is scheduled to begin on Friday, with the tournament final set to take place on September 20. The issuance of NOCs will allow the players to join their respective CPL franchises after fulfilling their commitments with domestic cricket assignments. The cricketers will receive their NOCs after completing their commitments in the National Champions Cup, which is being held in Multan from August 11 to 18.
Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, Moaz Sadaqat, Naseem Shah, and Sufyan Muqeem have CPL contracts and are currently part of different teams competing in the Champions Cup. Usman Tariq and Hunein Shah are also set to participate in the CPL but are not part of the National Champions Cup.
Several Pakistan cricketers featuring in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) this season will link up with their franchises after fulfilling their domestic cricket duties.
Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, Muaz Sadaqat, Naseem Shah, and Sufiyan Muqeem are among the players holding CPL contracts, while they are also representing different sides in the Champions Cup. The overlapping schedules have created a challenge for the players as they balance domestic commitments with franchise cricket.
Under the current plan, the players will receive clearance to participate in the CPL only after completing their Champions Cup assignments. This will allow them to remain available for the domestic tournament before travelling to the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, Usman Tariq and Haseebullah Khan are also expected to feature in the CPL but are not part of the Champions Cup squads, meaning their availability for the league will not be impacted by the domestic competition. The CPL provides Pakistan’s emerging and established players with valuable exposure to international franchise cricket, and the late transition will require them to quickly adapt from the conditions in Multan to the Caribbean environment.
