Pentagon prepares second aircraft carrier for deployment to the Middle East

According to a report released Wednesday that cited three US officials, the Pentagon amidst US Iran tensions, is actively preparing a second aircraft carrier strike group for deployment to the Middle East, as President Donald Trump looms large over ongoing talks with Iran.

One of the unnamed officials told the press that Trump may issue an order to deploy within hours of his Tuesday announcement that he is thinking of sending a second aircraft carrier to the area.

According to the officials, the President has not yet formally issued the deployment order. However, within two weeks, the Pentagon is preparing the strike group for deployment, most likely from the East Coast to the Middle East.

According to sources, the USS George H. W. Off the coast of Virginia, a Bush aircraft carrier is presently engaged in training exercises. They further added that the exercises could be accelerated.

US Iran tensions

As Trump warned Iran that it would have to agree to a deal, the United States has largely expanded its military presence in the region.

Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Wednesday behind closed doors after the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was deployed from the South China Sea.

Following the sit-down, the US President stated: “It was not possible to reach a definitive conclusion other than my commitment to ongoing negotiations with Iran to determine whether or not a deal can be reached.

“If it is feasible, I will inform the Prime Minister of that preference.” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“If it is not feasible, we will simply have to determine the outcome.” Iran made the decision that they were better off not engaging in a deal once more, and they were confronted with (Operation) Midnight Hammer, which proved to be unfavorable for them.

He added, “Hopefully they will be more reasonable and responsible this time.”
