Daudzai, Peshawar: Police kill five target killers

WEB DESK: An intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Daudzai area of Peshawar.

Five major target killers were successfully shot down after an extreme gunfight between the Police and the terrorists.

According to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Dr Mian Saeed, the suspects were wanted by the police of Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, and other districts in several major crimes.

The CCPO added that the operation was totally intelligence-based, and we faced a lot of difficulty while conducting this operation. The operation was interrupted due to less visibility, but the Police showed professionalism and surrounded the area entirely.

But fortunately, we succeeded in countering those target killers.

Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is facing a serious water and sanitation crisis. A large portion of drinking water is found to be contaminated.

Experts say that nearly 84 per cent of the city’s water supply is affected by various types of pollution. This has raised concerns over the spread of waterborne diseases, including polio.

A recent UNICEF survey shows that around 400,000 people in Peshawar still lack basic toilet facilities.

The survey revealed that 9.5 per cent of the city’s population does not have access to proper sanitation. This leads to unhygienic practices such as open defecation.
