Saudi Arabia announces update on expired visit visas

The General Directorate of Passports recently introduced a new rule allowing people with expired visit visas to extend their stay only for final departure from Saudi Arabia, no matter what type of visa they had.

The step is expected to make exit procedures easier and to help manage residency rules for people who have overstayed their visas.

According to Jawazat, the extension must be completed through the Absher platform using the “Tawasul” service.

Authorities have advised eligible people to apply quickly. They warned that no further extensions or exceptions will be given after the deadline.

According to reports. Saudi security forces previously detained nearly 15,000 people in a nationwide crackdown on illegal residency and labour violations.
