Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has provided two Pink Buses to Kohsar University in Murree to make travelling easier and safer for female students.

The initiative addresses transport problems faced by students who travel through the mountainous roads of Murree to reach their university.

Daily travel has been difficult for many students because of long distances, limited public transport and concerns about personal safety.

The new buses are expected to provide a more reliable travel option and help female students attend classes regularly.

Kohsar University welcomes new transport facility

Kohsar University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Rafia Mumtaz, welcomed the decision and thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for providing the buses.

She described the initiative as an important step towards improving student welfare and supporting women’s education.

According to the university administration, reliable transport is important in mountainous areas, where difficult roads and limited travel options create daily challenges.

Many parents also worry about sending their daughters to educational institutions using irregular or overcrowded public transport.

Transport difficulties can prevent young women from continuing their education, especially in remote and mountainous communities.

Long journeys, high travel costs and limited transport services may discourage families from sending their daughters to universities.

The Pink Buses are expected to reduce these concerns. The service will help students focus more on their studies instead of daily travel arrangements.

However, details about the buses’ routes, schedules and passenger capacity have not yet been provided.
