PM, Punjab CM inaugurate PAFDA

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, on Saturday, inaugurated the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA) to promote food security and safety standards across Punjab.

PM Shehbaz Sharif affirmed that the lab would help Pakistan with essential food resources such as rice, milk and water. He called it a major milestone in the development of the country.

During his speech, he saluted Punjab CM for the establishment of PAFDA. He added further that the lab is expected to facilitate food security in other provinces as well, not only Punjab.

One of the key objectives of PAFDA is to completely eliminate the threat of food contamination or adulteration.

The PM stated that the authority has been established to serve the country and is of great value to the nation.

Punjab CM, Maryam Nawaz, announced that there would be no compromise on merit. She added that drone technology will be utilized to put an end to crime in the province which will be supported by the surveillance of satellite crime units.

PAFDA test

The Punjab CM stated that a sum of Rs230 crore has been invested in building accommodation for female scientists.

The authority has been established with modern technology along with the initiation of e-business registration where 23000 businesses have been granted permission with all No Objection Certificates (NOCs) online.

The Punjab CM vowed to end the current era of darkness with the expansion of Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) from 8 to 38 districts.

She also paid tribute to her father, stating that merit is the only important standard to her, a virtue she learned from her father, former PM Nawaz Sharif.

In her closing remarks, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz stated that PAFDA will set the standard for international compliance.
