World leaders sign Gaza Peace Deal

US President Donald Trump signed a document on the ceasefire deal along with other world leaders, including el-Sisi, Erdogan and Sheikh Tamim.

“It’s going to hold up,” Trump said regarding the ceasefire.

The Gaza peace agreement was signed by the heads of the mediator countries: the United States, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar.

While addressing the international summit, President Trump paid tribute to the leadership of Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt.

PM Shehbaz Meets Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of the Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh.

There, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening brotherly ties between Pakistan and Palestine.

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa also joined the meeting and discussions.

President Abbas deeply appreciated the fact that Pakistan had always supported the Palestinian cause and continued to do so, politically and diplomatically, on the international front.

On this occasion, both leaders said that the long-standing brotherly relations between Palestine and Pakistan are exemplary, which the leadership and people of both countries are proud of.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to the brave people of Gaza for enduring hardships with courage and bravery in the past years.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the ceasefire in Gaza, calling it a precursor to peace in the region and the development of the Palestinians.

PM Shehbaz Meets Azerbaijani President, Armenian Prime Minister

In another important engagement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a trilateral meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The three leaders expressed satisfaction over the Gaza ceasefire, a rare moment of unity between the two Caucasus neighbours, reflecting the broader international resolve to ensure stability in the Middle East.

PM Shehbaz Meets Other World Leaders

The Prime Minister also met several global leaders, including King Abdullah II of Jordan, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During these discussions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the urgent need for coordinated global efforts to restore peace in the region.

PM Shehbaz Arrives in Sharm El-Sheikh

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday to take part in the Gaza Ceasefire and Peace Summit, joining more than 20 world leaders gathered to support peace efforts in the region.

Upon his arrival at the Egyptian Red Sea resort city, the Prime Minister was received by Dr Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports.

The summit, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, aims to consolidate the recently brokered ceasefire deal in Gaza, ending more than two years of conflict.

The meeting comes at a pivotal moment, as Hamas released 20 remaining Israeli hostages and Israel freed hundreds of Palestinian detainees under the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
