PM Shehbaz Sharif has praised his brother, former PM Nawaz Sharif, for focusing on development projects when others were busy with slogans.
He further said that the launch of these projects had “buried that style of politics”.
He was addressing the ceremony of the mass transport system, which Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz also attended.
The prime minister said that history would remember Nawaz Sharif’s achievements with golden words, including the country’s acquisition of nuclear power in 1998.
Praising CM Maryam Nawaz, he lauded the government of Punjab’s initiatives like the construction of a cancer hospital, the launch of metro buses, clean Punjab, pollution reduction, the provision of houses for the homeless, helping flood-affected people, and the provision of missing facilities in schools.
“The journey of progress and prosperity has just commenced, and we will move on the path of development rapidly. In the next election, owing to this hard work, PML-N will get historic results,” he added.
Addressing this ceremony, Maryam said that the metro bus project is the legacy of PM Shehbaz.
The chief minister said that during her visits to DG Khan and Mianwali after assuming office, she found no signs of development in those areas. However, significant progress was now underway, with new roads, overhead bridges, and a functional green bus service in Mianwali. She added that in Gujrat, a new sewerage and drainage system worth Rs 30 billion was being installed, and the area would witness major improvements within six to eight months.
