PM Shehbaz Sharif addressed the Pakistan Pavilion on Wednesday, saying that the countryis now moving forward with a sense of success.
“Pakistan is now moving forward with a sense of success,” he said.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan further added that the country’s economic indicators are very satisfactory.
“The inflation rate has come down from 30 per cent to 5.5 per cent. Our policy rate has reached a very high level,” he further added.
He further added that Pakistan has reached a point where it is poised to take off quickly in agriculture, industry, mining, artificial intelligence (AI), and information technology, with a very promising future ahead.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has achieved economic stability but still needs to increase its exports.
He added that revenue collection has been digitalised and reforms are ongoing.
He praised the youth, saying they are ready to work in the Gulf and other countries.
He also assured the Pakistani pavilion that the privatisation process in different sectors is being carried out transparently.
PM Shehbaz in Davos
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on Wednesday.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), he briefed Georgieva regarding the improvement in Pakistan’s macroeconomic indicators and progress on institutional reforms. Additionally, regarding the stabilisation efforts.
He stressed Pakistan’s commitment to fiscal discipline, mobilisation of the revenue and development, according to what the statement said.
As Pakistan gets an invitation to join the Gaza Peace Counsel, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is preparing to meet US President Donald Trump this week in Switzerland on the sidelines of the 56th World Economic Forum in Davos.
The meeting is expected on the sidelines of the 56th World Economic Forum in Davos. Sources add that both the leaders are likely to meet in Davos during the World Economic Forum sessions.
Government officials also say the meeting is important amid changing global political and economic conditions.
The talks are expected to focus on trade, investment, and regional security.
