Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on the conduct of transparent, peaceful and politically active elections.
The Prime Minister said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has emerged as the leading political party in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections and he extended his congratulations to the party. He also congratulated PPP leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan demonstrated strong political awareness and responsibility by actively participating in the democratic process, which deserves special appreciation.
He also congratulated the successful candidates of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying they put up a strong contest and commended the party’s efforts in the elections.
The Prime Minister further extended congratulations to all successful candidates across Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said that peaceful and transparent elections and political activity reflect the true beauty of democracy, adding that the Election Commission ensured a fair and impartial electoral process, which is commendable.
Shehbaz Sharif also praised the police and law enforcement agencies for their role in ensuring peaceful elections.
