PMDC directs universities across the country to conduct a pre-hoc analysis of the MDCAT 2025 papers

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has directed universities across the country to conduct a pre-hoc analysis of the MDCAT 2025 papers to ensure that no questions outside the syllabus are included.

According to the PM&DC, the MDCAT 2025 exam will be held on October 26, for which 140,125 candidates have registered. 35 examination centres have been set up across the country, while an international centre has also been set up in Riyadh.

The announcement said that the MDCAT exam will be conducted by the respective universities themselves, and the PM&DC will not be its direct administrator. However, the council has provided the examination policy, structure and guidelines to all universities.

University Exams Postponed Amid Violent Protests

It has been further informed that all universities have been given access to the National Item Bank so that the preparation and checking of question papers are in accordance with the standards of the council.

The PMDC clarified that universities should strictly adhere to the set standards during the preparation, development and printing of the papers. It is mandatory to conduct a pre-hoc analysis of the question papers and delete questions outside the syllabus.

The council has directed that the confidentiality of the examination papers should be strictly maintained, while the papers should be opened only in the presence of official witnesses.

According to the announcement, the universities will issue the MDCAT admit cards to the candidates seven days before the examination, and the results will be officially released within seven days of the examination.
