LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA, Irfan Shafi Khokhar, passed away in Lahore on Sunday. He experienced a sudden and fatal heart attack.
The prominent politician was the elected Member of the Punjab Assembly representing the PP-167 constituency within the provincial capital city.
Moreover, he belonged to the influential Khokhar family of Johar Town, which remains a foundation of the PML-N’s local political power.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep condolences and offered sincere prayers for the soul of the departed leader.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, also shared her grievances with the family. She prayed that may his soul rest in peace and be ranked high in heaven.
She praised his dedicated service to the party and highlighted the significant vacuum his death leaves in the provincial assembly.
Media’s Stance on the Death of MPA
Media reports confirmed that the late MPA suffered a cardiac arrest and, unfortunately, could not be revived by doctors.
Furthermore, his funeral prayers are scheduled to be held on Monday at 3 PM. Many political figures are expected to attend it.
The local community in Lahore continues to mourn the loss of a representative who was known for his loyalty.
