The Punjab government has decided to hire new staff for educational boards across the province after 15 years. The recruitment will cover vacant posts in Lahore, Faisalabad and other boards.
Sources said the hiring process has started for several positions. These include Computer Programmer, Assistant and Senior Computer Operator.
Posts of Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Estate Officer will also be filled.
How many posts will be filled in Lahore?
In Lahore, 33 posts in BS-16 and BS-17 will be filled. Candidates for these positions will be selected through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
Several important posts in the educational boards have remained vacant for years due to the lack of new recruitment. This has increased the workload of the existing staff.
The new appointments are expected to improve the working of the boards. They may also help speed up administrative and office work.

‘80 lakh girls out of school in Punjab’
Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has claimed that around 8 million girls in Punjab are out of school. He accused the government of failing to protect their basic right to education.
Speaking at a sit-in in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem said millions of girls in Punjab were not going to school. He also criticised the government for outsourcing thousands of girls’ schools.
He said Punjab’s literacy rate was around 70 per cent and millions of people still did not have access to education.
He added that women were working in almost every field but their basic rights were still not being properly protected.
He also claimed that female medical graduates were not getting their full share of house-job opportunities.
Hafiz Naeem said the government had failed to provide peace, safe transport and basic facilities for women.
He claimed that only a few temporary steps were being taken to address these issues.
