The Sialkot Stallionz announced Smith’s inclusion on social media. This has sparked major excitement among cricket fans across Pakistan.

This will mark Steve Smith’s first appearance in the PSL. Here, he is expected to showcase his world-class batting skills.

According to the sources, Smith was brought in through a direct signing by the franchise.

He has reportedly been signed on a Rs14 crore contract. This huge amount has made him the most expensive player in the history of the super league.

The record breaking deal has set a new bench mark for the other teams in the PSL.

According to cricket analysts, the addition of an experienced and globally renowned player like Smith will not only strengthen the Sialkot Stallionz but also boost the league’s overall popularity.

Meanwhile, PSL franchises have also announced the retainer fees for players retained ahead of PSL 11.

Peshawar Zalmi has retained the captain Babar Azam. Lahore Qalandars have retained fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. And Islamabad United has retained all rounder Shadab Khan, each at PKR 7 crore.

The Sialkot Stallionz franchise is owned by the OZ developers. It is a Pakistan based real estate development company.

The franchise was acquired for Rs1.85 billion, on January 8, 2026. This makes it the most expensive team in the Pakistan Super League history

Additionally, the name chosen for the franchise is much loved because the Stallions were more than just a domestic team.

From 2005 to 2012, they won six National T20 Cup titles. This includes a record 25-match unbeaten streak.

This also makes them the most successful team in Pakistan’s domestic T20 history.

The team included players who became legends: Shoaib Malik, Imran Nazir, Haris Sohail, and Shakeel Ansar.
