Web desk: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has shared several major initiatives aimed at taking the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to new heights and establishing it as the world’s top T20 league.
Naqvi announced that state-of-the-art cricket stadiums with world-class facilities will be constructed in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad.
After approval to make PSL a limited company, an IPO will be launched in the market, stated Mohsin Naqvi.
Concerts for cricket fans will be organised at all PSL venues from December, leading up to the start of PSL 11.
It will enhance the overall fan experience tremendously.
The league is increasingly being recognised as a stable international brand, with a focus on expanding its global broadcast reach.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also announced plans to consider major upgrades for the Abbottabad and Muzaffarabad cricket stadiums.
According to the PCB Chairman, discussions are underway to modernise both venues, which have traditionally hosted domestic cricket but have never staged an international match or a Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixture.
New PSL tender
A new tender has also been issued for PSL’s international media rights.
Where can you watch PSL 11?
PCB has launched its OTT platform, PCB Live. This will bring fans closer to the action of much awaited PSL 11.
Financial incentives have been announced as well to encourage competitiveness and development.
$500,000 has been announced for the winning team. $300,000 has been announced for the runners-up. And $200,000 for the franchise that develops the best cricket talent.
Chairman Naqvi emphasised that PSL offers significant opportunities for investors. And is poised to grow as a leading global sporting brand.
PSL matches at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium
Additionally, Mohsin Naqvi has announced that some Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches will be held at the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.
Sources say that a nearby five-star hotel will accommodate international players, ensuring there are no logistical issues.
“Muzaffarabad stadium has also been taken over by PCB. And there’s a five-star hotel there too,” stated Qadir Khawaja in one of his X posts.
