In the ongoing Pakistan Super League season 11 (PSL 11), Lahore Qalandars’ continuous losses have put captain Shaheen Shah Afridi under strong pressure.
In a recent match at the National Stadium Karachi against Quetta Gladiators, Shaheen Afridi got out on zero.
After getting out, he showed anger and smashed his bat while returning to the pavilion.

During the match, Shaheen Afridi decided to come to bat before the experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza.
However, this decision did not work. He got out on the second ball of his innings without scoring any runs.
After his dismissal, Shaheen looked to be very angry. He first hit his bat on a tyre near the side screen and then threw it on the ground while going up the dressing room stairs, which damaged the bat.
In the match, Quetta Gladiators defeated Lahore Qalandars by 6 wickets and improved their position on the points table.
PSL 11
The season has been disappointing for Lahore Qalandars, as they have won only 2 out of 6 matches so far.
The video of the incident is spreading quickly on social media, and fans are giving mixed reactions to the captain’s behaviour.

The captain who promoted himself to save his team ended up breaking more than just his willow.
It is important to note that under Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy, Lahore Qalandars performed very well in the last two seasons and won the title.
However, in the current season, the team’s form and balance seem weak.
Cricket experts had already criticised Shaheen Afridi’s decision to promote himself up the batting order in recent matches.
Coming to bat ahead of key players like Sikandar Raza has also affected the team’s confidence, observers say.
