Ali Tareen asks fans to keep ārealistic expectationsā
Former Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has said he will not spend any amount to take back the franchise at the upcoming auction on February 9.
Tareen is one of the five bidders approved by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) bid committee. He shared a video on the social media platform Instagram to confirm that he will take part in the auction.
āHey guys, so tomorrow is Multan Sultansā auction, and I want to make this video just so everyone understands where my mindās at, whatās the mindset,ā he said.
āWe have submitted our papers, and we are one of the qualified bidders for the team,ā Tareen further added in the video message.
āBut I want everyone to have more realistic expectations and temper their expectations. Because itās not a given that tomorrow I will go to Multan Sultan at any cost. It has been a privilege to own Multan Sultans for seven years. Weāve been part of it. Itās been one of the highlights of my life,ā he stated.
āBut now, to go in with the expectation that Iām going to go into a bidding war or Iām going to buy it at any cost, this is not the case. I love PSL, I love being part of it, whether Iām in the stands or in the dugout, Iām equally happy. Maybe Iām a little happier being in the dugout,ā Tareen said.
āIf we are getting the team at a good price, then definitely we will buy it. But buying at any cost, this is not the plan,ā he added.
