According to the reports on Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including PTI founder and former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, Arif Naqvi, Tariq Rahim, Tariq Shafiq, Hamid Zaman, and others, have been accused of receiving illegal foreign funding.
The PTI foreign funding case has once again come into focus after authorities revealed that an amount of $2.1 million remains unaccounted for.
The Banking Court in Islamabad has granted the FIA two days to submit the challan.
On the court’s inquiry, the prosecutor said that letters have been written to the concerned countries seeking their opinion.
The court remarked that on the next hearing, the investigating officer will be issued a show-cause notice and the Director General of FIA will be summoned.
The court observed that the case has been pending since 2022 and that no serious interest has been taken so far. The hearing has been adjourned until February 4.
