People have rejected PTI’s strike call: CM Maryam Nawaz

Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that the people have rejected Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) strike call.

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz added that the people of Punjab have rejected the culture of abusive language, chaos and violence.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while addressing a ceremony about the Basant Festival, said that people have rejected the culture of chaos and disorder.

She said that in Punjab, there was zero strike, zero wheel-jam, and zero shutter-down.

Further, she added that PTI’s tactics did not work, and the people of Punjab completely rejected the call for a strike.

She said the call by billionaires was meant to harm poor people, as they asked daily wage workers to go on strike.

People from across the country came to Lahore to celebrate Basant, she said, adding that there was no strike anywhere in Punjab.

The public rejected negative behaviour and abusive language, and completely failed the strike call of disruptive elements, according to CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz.

She also said that in her 52 years of life, this was the first time she saw such strong enforcement of the law.

The traffic police performed their duties very well. She praised the health sector and appreciated LESCO, the interior department, and all other institutions for performing their responsibilities properly.

She said police reforms are being planned, and once again stated that PTI’s tactics failed and people celebrated Basant enthusiastically. Those who gave calls for their own interests faced defeat, she added further.
