Advisor on Finance and Inter-Provincial Coordination to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM, Muzzammil Aslam, struggled to recall the names of the universities established by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

At one point, he also tried to credit PTI for the establishment of Mardan University.
However, Ikhtiar Wali Khan refuted this claim, saying that Mardan University was established during the tenure of Ameer Haider Khan, not during the PTI government.
In 2019, PTI founder Imran Khan laid the foundation stone of Al-Qadir University, but controversy soon followed.
An accountability court convicted Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
In another development, PTI has reconstituted a 23-member new political committee, issuing a formal notification that notably excludes former KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur from the new structure.
According to the notification, the political committee will function as the party’s apex decision-making forum, responsible for shaping decisions, formulating policies and preparing guidelines for parliamentary wings.
