Web desk: The Punjab government has declared November 1, 2025, as a public holiday for all lower courts across the province.
Public Holiday on Nov 1
The holiday has been announced in connection with the Punjab Bar Council elections. The elections will be held on the same day, Nov 1.
Thousands of lawyers from different districts will cast their votes to elect new representatives for the provincial bar council.
Court proceedings will remain suspended to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections and allow all lawyers to participate in the voting process.
This is not all; another announcement regarding a holiday on November 1 has been made as well.
Local Holiday in Narowal for Urs Celebrations
Separately, a local holiday has been announced in the Narowal district of Punjab on November 1, to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasani.
As Sunday is already a public holiday. This way, the residents will have a two-day break while devotees gather in Alipur Syedan Sharif for the Urs celebrations.
A formal notification in this regard has been issued by Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza.
Arrangements for Devotees
The district administration has completed arrangements for the pilgrims, including accommodation, food, and sanitation. This is to ensure a smooth and peaceful event.
Strict security measures have been implemented, with police, Rescue 1122, and health department personnel deployed round the clock.
Religious programs such as Quran recitations, Naat sessions, and spiritual gatherings will be organised. Renowned scholars and mashaikhs will highlight the spiritual and religious contributions of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lasani.
Facilities for food, clean drinking water, ablution, medical aid, and rest areas have been arranged for the devotees.
The district administration has urged citizens to cooperate and help maintain peace and order during the Urs celebrations.
