Punjab and Balochistan school exams to be rescheduled?
However, according to the decision taken, the exams will take place according to the announced schedule.
All schools, colleges and higher education institutes in the province will remain closed starting today.
They will stay closed until March 23. A formal notification confirming the decision has already been issued regarding this.
The government has also said that the move is part of an emergency plan to save fuel across the country. Pakistan is facing a serious drop in its energy reserves.
The decision also comes during a tense regional situation. There are concerns that the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States (US) could affect Pakistan’s energy supply.
According to the reports, the country’s fuel stock has fallen to about 28 days. This has raised fears of a nationwide energy crisis.
The situation has already started to affect citizens. A few days ago, the government increased petrol prices by Rs55 per liter.
The price has crossed Rs321 per liter. This is among the highest levels recorded in Pakistan.
Officials said these steps are being taken to prevent a deeper crisis.
