The government plans to provide electric bikes to 100,000 people through a transparent balloting process.

The scheme aims to make daily travel easier and more affordable, especially for students who regularly commute to educational institutions.

The selection process is expected to be completed during October 2026.

Eligible applicants will enter a balloting process to determine who receives an electric bike.

The government has announced monthly installments of Rs3,000 under the scheme.

Punjab will also cover the interest and insurance costs to reduce the financial burden on successful applicants.

However, applicants must complete the required verification process and qualify for selection.

The Punjab government has also announced free driving training for successful female applicants.

Maryam Nawaz directed the relevant authorities to arrange this training to help women travel safely and independently.

The government has not announced an exact balloting date yet.
