The Punjab government has announced four options for parents who want to provide their children with free education across the province.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced the initiative, saying families can choose from types of schools according to their needs. The government says education will be provided free of cost under all four options.

Free education options

  • Government schools
  • Public-Private partnership schools
  • Nawaz Sharif schools of excellence
  • Daanish schools

The provincial government has encouraged parents to enrol their children in any of these four types of institutions.

According to the government, the main purpose of the initiative is to improve access to quality education while creating better opportunities for children. Authorities also aim to give families more choice when selecting an institution for their children.

Daanish Schools are already part of the government’s education model designed to provide educational opportunities to students. Additionally, the government is also using public-private partnerships as part of its education strategy. The public and private sectors work together to increase the availability of schooling and improve educational services under this approach.

The Punjab government has encouraged parents to take advantage of the available options and enroll their children.

The government summarised its objective with the slogan of “Quality education, a brighter future, our commitment, your right.”
