Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has launched the Punjab Health Connect Programme to improve healthcare services in government hospitals by bringing in Pakistani-origin and international specialist doctors.
The programme, launched on the chief minister’s instructions, will allow overseas Pakistani and foreign doctors and surgeons to provide free treatment at public hospitals across Punjab. They will also train local doctors and medical staff in advanced medical techniques to strengthen the province’s healthcare system.
Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government is committed to providing international-standard healthcare services in government hospitals. She added that the province is working to upgrade its healthcare system in line with global standards.
The chief minister said the Punjab Health Connect Programme will also help address the shortage of specialist doctors in public hospitals by improving access to expert medical care and enhancing the skills of local healthcare professionals.

Earlier, Maryam Nawaz on Thursday announced that Nawaz Sharif Schools would be established in every tehsil across the province and that 100,000 free electric bikes would be distributed to students.
Addressing a ceremony in Arifwala, the chief minister said the law and order situation in Punjab had improved, women and girls were safer, and education remained the most effective tool for eliminating social discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
