The Punjab government has declared new market operating hours in the whole province after the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Under the orders revised by the government, all the shops and markets would now close down at 10:00 PM, reverting back to the normal schedule of pre-Eid business.
Earlier, authorities had extended the trading hours on Eid-ul-Fitr and allowed businesses to run round-the-clock for facilitating the increases in shopping activity during the festive season.
With the holiday period now over, the temporary relaxation has also been withdrawn. Traders have been instructed to stick to the restored 10 PM closing time.
Sources said the ruling indicates that we are getting back to normal working routines on a commercial scale as standard working hours resume in the Punjab following Eid’s holidays.
School holidays extended for students
In separate development, the school holidays are extended by the government till the 31st of March.
The holidays were extended by the Balochistan government for the students.
Earlier this month, school holidays were declared for schools in Punjab from March 16 to 31 as a part of an austerity and fuel conservation plan produced by the federal government.
