Punjab govt extends deadline for CM Punjab Green Tractors Phase-III

The Punjab Agriculture Department has extended the deadline for successful farmers participating in the Chief Minister CM) Punjab Green Tractors Programme Phase-III to obtain their allotment letters and pay their share of the payment until March 31, 2026.

According to a representative from the Agriculture Department, farmers who achieved success in the programme are instructed to receive their allotment letters and submit the necessary payment within the newly extended deadline.

The representative further stated that if the payment is not made before the deadline, the opportunity will be immediately offered to farmers on the waiting list of the CM Punjab Green Tractors scheme.

Who can get selected for CM Punjab Green Tractors Phase III?

The Punjab government has established the eligibility requirements for farmers seeking to apply for the Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Scheme Phase-III, which is designed to encourage agricultural mechanisation.

Director of Agriculture Extension, Chaudhary Khalid Mahmood, stated that applicants are required to be permanent residents of Punjab and must possess a valid Computerised National Identity Card.

He noted that only farmers who can verify ownership of five acres or more of agricultural land are eligible to apply for the scheme.

He further clarified that farmers who have previously received subsidised tractors under the Green Tractor Scheme Phase-I or Phase-II, or who have benefited from the Wheat Incentive Program, are not permitted to reapply.

Additionally, farmers who have defaulted on the Kisan Card facility will also be deemed ineligible.

The Agriculture Department will confirm land ownership and the credentials of applicants through revenue records and field verification.

Under this scheme, the tractor will be registered in the name of the applicant for a minimum of three years, and authorities will strictly prohibit its sale during this duration.

Successful applicants to be selected through a digital balloting process

Chaudhary Khalid Mahmood mentioned that the department will select successful applicants via a digital balloting process.

Selected farmers are required to pay Rs. 500,000 as their contribution, along with fees for registration, card issuance, transaction, and number plates, within the specified timeframe outlined in the allotment letter.

He indicated that beneficiaries must select a tractor with a horsepower range of 50 to 65.

The government reserves the right to withdraw the subsidy or reject applications if any discrepancies are discovered during the verification process, as authorities will uphold transparency and merit throughout the entire procedure.
