Web desk: The Punjab government has launched a major internship programme for young graduates and intermediate students. It offers a monthly stipend of up to Rs 65,000.
The initiative aims to provide over 8,000 interns with teaching experience in colleges across the province.
The Punjab government has announced an internship programme for young graduates and intermediate students. The monthly stipend is between Rs 55,000 and Rs 65,000.
According to official details, a total budget of over Rs 4.21 billion has been approved for college intern teachers across the province.
More than 8,000 interns will benefit from this initiative, which aims to give students valuable teaching experience in colleges.
Intermediate-level interns will receive Rs 55,000 per month for seven months. The BS-level interns will be paid Rs 65,000 per month for ten months.
Upon successful completion of the programme, all participants will receive experience certificates to help boost their professional credentials and employment prospects.
The total allocated amount of Rs 4.217 billion will cover both stipends and administrative costs.
Punjab Paid Internship Programme: Who Can Apply
According to the Punjab government, this monthly stipend will help ease the interns’ financial burden, motivate them to take part in teaching activities, and better prepare them for long-term academic careers.
The program also has reserved seats to ensure equal opportunities.
A total of 404 seats have been reserved for minorities, 243 seats for people with disabilities and 40 seats for transgender individuals, so that all sections have equal right to benefit from this opportunity.
Regarding the distribution of funds, it has been informed that a total of Rs 4.217 billion has been allocated for this program, which will be spent on the stipend and administrative expenses of the interns.
According to the Punjab government, this program will not only reduce the financial difficulties of the youth but will also encourage them to actively participate in teaching activities.
