Punjab police deploys 6000 cops for PSL 11

The Punjab Police have finalised extensive security measures for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 in Lahore, deploying over 6,000 officers and personnel to guarantee a safe atmosphere for players, officials, and cricket enthusiasts.

According to the spokesperson, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, full collaboration has been established with the Pakistan Cricket Board, district administration, and various security agencies to ensure foolproof arrangements at every level.

The spokesperson indicated that a total of 22 matches will be held in Lahore during PSL-11, with the opening match occurring today at Gaddafi Stadium between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kings.

Security protocols by Punjab Police include search, sweep, combing, and intelligence-driven operations around players’ residences, team routes, and stadiums for PSL 11.

The IGP Punjab has directed that security remain on high alert throughout the matches, with additional wardens assigned to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

Continuous surveillance of stadiums, hotels, and team routes will be maintained through Safe Cities Authority cameras.

Specialised units, including the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and Elite Force, will carry out effective patrolling, while snipers will be stationed on stadiums and adjacent high-rise buildings.

Pre-match traffic advisories will also be distributed to ensure public convenience and uninterrupted movement for cricket fans.

The spokesperson further stated that all arrangements have been made in accordance with international standards to provide a secure and orderly environment during PSL-11 in Lahore.

Where to watch PSL 11

For the first time, the PSL will be broadcast live on ESPN in Australia and New Zealand. In Bangladesh, T Sports and Tapmad will stream the tournament.

Additionally, in the Middle East and North Africa, Cricbuzz, Switch TV, Cricbuzz TV on ELIFE and STARZPLAY will provide coverage.

In Sri Lanka, fans can watch matches on Tapmad and Dialog TV. Tapmad and VIU Hub will also stream matches in Sri Lanka.
