A province-wide polio vaccination campaign is scheduled to begin throughout Punjab, including Lahore, starting April 13, with officials finalising all essential preparations.
As per sources, over 20,000 polio supervisors have received training, and more than 100,000 frontline workers have also completed their training in advance of the campaign.
More than 50,000 workers have participated in online assessments, and the training for polio teams was concluded by April 9.
Authorities have stated that a thorough strategy has been developed to ensure that every child across Punjab is reached during the polio vaccination campaign.
Transit points have been established across the province to vaccinate children who are on the move, including those traveling between provinces.
Polio teams have also been stationed at inter-provincial checkpoints, as well as at the airports in Lahore and Islamabad.
Significant transit vaccination points have been created in Attock, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Special provisions have also been arranged at religious gatherings to guarantee broader coverage.
Furthermore, transit points have been set up for one month at shrines in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, while dedicated teams will be present during events such as the annual Urs of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar across Punjab.
