Punjab resolves madrassah registration issue after talks with scholars

Madrassah registriction issue resolved

The long-standing issue of madrassah registration finally resolved after four months of continuous negotiations between the Punjab government, religious scholars, and the Madrassah Associations’ Union.

According to the Punjab Home Department, an agreement has been reached with all stakeholders, addressing concerns raised by religious scholars and the union regarding the registration process. The department said the consultations helped build consensus and remove misunderstandings related to regulatory requirements.

Taking into account the recommendations of scholars and the union, the Home Department has prepared an online registration form to streamline the process and ensure transparency.

Officials confirmed that the madrassah registration process will officially begin on February 3. The government expressed hope that the agreed framework would facilitate smooth registration and strengthen coordination between madrassahs and the authorities across the province.
