Punjab govt announces 250+ scholarship opportunities in Masters, PhD programs

The government of Punjab has announced more than 250 scholarship opportunities in the Masters and PhD programs.

The Punjab government has invited applications for 285 postgraduate scholarships for faculty members working at public-sector nursing institutions across the province.

The scholarships include 15 PhD places and 270 Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) opportunities under the Punjab Nursing and Health Workforce Reform Program.

The Program Implementation Unit (PIU), operating under the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department, will oversee the application and selection process.

The initiative aims to strengthen nursing education by helping eligible faculty members obtain advanced qualifications from universities in Pakistan and abroad.

According to the announcement, scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis until all 285 approved places have been filled.

The programme offers two categories of postgraduate scholarships.

The first includes 15 PhD scholarships, which focus on international education and research opportunities for nursing faculty members.

The second category provides 270 MScN scholarships through recognised universities in Pakistan.

The government says the opportunities are intended to improve nursing educators’ academic qualifications, research skills and teaching capabilities.

Who can apply?

The scholarships are open to eligible faculty members working at public-sector nursing institutions in Punjab.

Applicants must meet the academic and professional requirements for their chosen programme. The government has advised candidates to check the detailed eligibility criteria before applying.

Faculty members who have already applied for admission, received an offer or secured admission to a recognised university may also submit their documents for consideration.

However, admission to a university does not automatically guarantee a scholarship. The PIU will assess applications against the programme’s approved eligibility requirements before making a final decision.

How to apply

Interested faculty members must submit their applications through the Directorate General Nursing (DG Nursing) to the Program Implementation Unit.

Applicants should visit the official Punjab Nursing and Health Workforce Reform Program website to review the eligibility requirements, partner universities and application procedure.

They must complete the prescribed application form and provide supporting documents, including academic credentials, details of their chosen university and programme, and relevant admission documents.

Candidates who have received an admission offer must also submit a copy of their offer or admission letter.

Completed applications must be sent to the PIU through the Directorate General Nursing office for verification and further processing.

The government has instructed applicants to follow the prescribed submission procedure rather than sending documents directly to the PIU without going through the relevant office.
