In addition to this, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the Sindh government is taking important steps to secure fuel reserves and save energy.

Provincial Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the decisions related to schools will be taken after seeing the situation.

He further said that to save fuel, a ‘work from home’ policy will be adopted every Friday.

He added that the government offices will remain closed on Fridays, and staff will fulfil their responsibilities from home.

The senior minister has also requested the private sector to allow their employees to work from home wherever possible so that traffic and fuel consumption on the roads are reduced.

He said that, considering the seriousness of the situation, all members of the Sindh cabinet have decided not to take their salaries for 3 months so that the burden on the government treasury is reduced.

In addition, about 60 per cent of government vehicles have been grounded, and there will be a complete ban on unnecessary movement.

He said that if the federal government decides to impose a lockdown to save energy, the Sindh government will fully implement it.

Regarding educational institutions, Sharjeel Memon clarified that any final decision regarding the closure of schools or not will be taken only after looking at the current situation.

The top priority at present is to keep prices under control and improve public transport facilities, he added.
