The Punjab Agriculture Department has invited farmers to apply for 9,500 tractors under the Chief Minister High-Power Green Tractors Programme. Under the initiative, farmers will receive a subsidy of Rs1 million on each tractor. Applicants must own or cultivate at least seven acres of agricultural land to qualify for the programme.
According to a department spokesperson, farmers from computerised villages can submit their applications online through the programme’s portal or the official Punjab Agriculture Department website.
Farmers living in non-computerised villages can download the application form from the department’s website or collect it free of cost from their nearest Agriculture Extension office. After completing the form, applicants must submit it along with the required documents and information to the office of the concerned Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension). The deadline for submitting applications is October 5, 2026.
For further information and assistance, farmers can contact their relevant Agriculture Extension office or call the Agriculture Helpline at 0800-17000. The helpline is available daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
It is worth mentioning here that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam had earlier launched the fourth phase of the Green Tractor Scheme through digital balloting and opened the application portal for its fifth phase.
Under the two phases, the provincial government plans to provide 19,500 tractors to farmers during the current fiscal year.
The chief minister pressed a button to conduct the digital balloting for Phase IV, with the first tractor being allocated to Masood Khan, son of Lal Khan, from Attock.
According to a briefing, 10,000 tractors with engine capacities ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower will be distributed under Phase IV. The Punjab government will provide a subsidy of Rs750,000 for each tractor.
Under Phase V, farmers will be offered 9,500 high-powered tractors ranging from 75 to 125 horsepower, with a subsidy of Rs1 million per tractor. The government has allocated Rs17.6 billion for the scheme. Officials said 24,000 tractors had already been provided to farmers under the programme, with a subsidy of Rs1 million per tractor.
