Punjab’s schools to reopen on Monday

No more relaxation and vacations as schools across Punjab province will reopen tomorrow, Monday, 19th January.  

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that there will be no further extensions, and all schools across the province will operate as usual.

According to the announcement, school hours will be from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Winter vacations in Punjab began on December 20 and were initially scheduled to end on January 10. Schools were supposed to reopen on Monday, January 13, but due to severe cold weather in the region, the provincial government extended the break until January 18. After a total of 29 days of vacation, students will return to classrooms tomorrow.

The provincial administration has urged parents and students to ensure timely attendance and to follow safety measures during adverse weather conditions.

On the other hand, the annual exams of 9th and 10th grades will commence on March 27. The 10th grade (Part Two) results are expected on August 6, while the 9th grade (Part One) results are likely to be announced on September 2.

For students who need to appear in supplementary exams, the Punjab Boards have confirmed that the supplementary exams for 9th and 10th grades will begin from October 6. Meanwhile, the annual exams for 11th and 12th grades are scheduled to start from May 20. The 12th grade results are expected on September 23, while the 11th grade results are likely to be released on October 22.

The Punjab Boards Committee has urged students and parents to stay updated with official announcements to avoid any confusion regarding exam dates and results.
