PIEAS improves global ranking, moves up to 560th position in latest QS World University Rankings

In the latest QS World University Rankings, Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) staged a remarkable recovery, climbing from the 721-730 band in the previous edition to 560th place globally.

PIEAS is a premier public sector university functioning under the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and is renowned for its excellence in engineering, applied sciences, and research.

It has emerged as the third-highest-ranked university in Pakistan.

The institution, which is located in Islamabad, also marked the achievement by celebrating it on social media.

The achievement reflects the institution’s continued commitment to quality education, research, and innovation.

PIEAS’s highly qualified faculty, combined with excellent infrastructure, plays a key role in its mission to deliver high-quality education in engineering and applied sciences, meet national and regional needs for highly skilled professionals, and contribute to the welfare of humanity through education, research, and development. The institute has been ranked No. 1 in Engineering & Technology by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan in all three rankings conducted in 2006, 2012, and 2013.

The QS World University Rankings, published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds, is one of the most widely read and trusted global university evaluations. It measures university performance using standardised indicators like academic and employer reputation, research impact, faculty-to-student ratio, and internationalisation.
