A gas bowser caught fire near the customs office of Taftan in Quetta on Thursday.
The incident has injured two firefighters after an explosion occurred in the gas bowser during efforts to control the blaze.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out in the bowser parked close to the customs premises.
Rescue operation
Rescue officials said the fire brigade was alerted soon after the incident, and teams reached the scene to contain the flames.
While firefighters were working to bring the situation under control, the gas bowser exploded.
Two firefighters were injured in the blast while carrying out the operation.
Fire at Achakzai Plaza, Quetta
A fire broke out at Achakzai Plaza in Quetta’s Liaqat Bazar after a reported short circuit, causing panic among shopkeepers and visitors in the area.
Rescue officials said the blaze started inside the commercial building and quickly drew attention due to smoke rising from the plaza.
Fire brigade and rescue teams reached the site shortly after being alerted and began efforts to contain the fire.
Troops from the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Balochistan were also present at the scene and assisted in securing the area.
They helped manage crowds and supported rescue operations to ensure safety.
Authorities worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby shops and buildings.
Evacuation measures were carried out as a precaution, and surrounding businesses were temporarily closed during the operation.
After several hours of effort, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control. No immediate reports of serious injuries were received.
An investigation was also initiated to confirm the exact cause of the fire, which is believed to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit.
