Veteran actress Rabia Abid Ali has spoken candidly about her marriage to the late legendary actor Abid Ali, calling it one of the most difficult decisions of her life.
Appearing as a guest on a state television program, Rabia reflected on her personal journey and shared heartfelt memories of her late husband. She revealed that choosing to marry a man who was already married and heading a family was not an easy step for either of them.
“Since he was already married and had children, I was very hesitant about the future of this relationship,” she said. “It was not a simple decision.”
Rabia shared that Abid Ali himself was deeply concerned about how he would manage responsibilities between two households. “He was worried about how he would balance both marriages and his children. He was a serious and intelligent person,” she recalled, adding that she never pressured him in the early stages of their relationship.
The actress revealed that their bond began with friendship after they met on the set of a drama. “Our friendship was written by Allah. Meeting on the set was destined,” she said. However, the couple took their time before taking any major step. According to Rabia, it took them nearly three years to reach a final decision.
“After three years, we mutually decided to formalise and strengthen our relationship,” she explained.
Rabia also clarified that she had set clear boundaries from the beginning. “I told him clearly that I did not want to interfere in his life in any way,” she shared.
Addressing rumours about Abid Ali’s personality, she said she had heard that he was quick-tempered, but her experience was entirely different. “He turned out to be the complete opposite. He was very kind-hearted.”
Interestingly, Rabia admitted that while there was understanding and respect before marriage, her love for him deepened afterwards. “Before marriage, there was only an understanding between us. I fell in love after marriage,” she concluded.
