PDMA issues rain alert across Punjab until October 14

The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a rain alert across the province, forecasting rainfall and strong winds in several districts from today until October 14.

According to the PDMA, a westerly weather system entered the country’s upper regions on Saturday, increasing the likelihood of rain and strong winds across various parts of Punjab.

Rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal and Mianwali.

Intermittent rainfall is also forecast for Faisalabad, Khushab, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh. The PDMA has directed the relevant authorities to take precautionary measures in view of the risk of landslides in Murree, Galyat and other hilly areas. Residents, particularly those in vulnerable and mountainous areas, have been advised to remain cautious and follow official weather updates.
