ISLAMABAD: Rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in the federal capital Islamabad from tonight, according to the meteorological department.
The weather is likely to turn pleasant, while the intensity of cold is expected to increase.
The Meteorological Department stated that the spell of rain may continue intermittently, and strong winds may blow in some areas. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures.
According to the department, under the same weather system, rain along with snowfall is expected in Murree and the Galiyat, while snowfall is also likely in the upper areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile, fog and smog are likely to persist in various plain areas of Punjab, which may affect visibility.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to remain cautious while traveling and to stay updated with the latest weather conditions.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has signed a contract to install Advanced Automatic Weather Stations under the World Bank–funded Hydromet Project.
The stations will be set up across the country to strengthen a climate-responsive early warning system.
According to officials, the new AWS network will enhance weather monitoring and forecasting capacity.
The system will improve lead time for early warnings, helping protect human lives and limit economic losses.
