While intense heat and heatwave conditions persist across most parts of the country, the Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
According to the latest weather report, most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain hot and dry during the day on Friday. However, thunderstorms are likely in various parts of the province from Friday night into Saturday.
Partly cloudy weather is expected in Kohistan, Abbottabad, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, with rain accompanied by strong winds and gusty conditions forecast in these areas. In Islamabad and surrounding areas, hot weather is expected to persist during the day, while a change in weather is likely at night, with a 35% chance of isolated thunderstorms.
Rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are also forecast during the afternoon and night in upper districts of Punjab, including Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Rawalpindi and Mianwali. Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to continue experiencing hot and dry weather.
The Meteorological Department said the weather remained dry across most parts of the country during the past 24 hours. The highest temperatures of 40°C were recorded in Nokkundi, Sibi, Mithi, Dadu and Sukkur.
