Popular Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt’s social media accounts have suddenly disappeared, and are currently inaccessible. It has left millions of followers puzzled about what has happened to his accounts.
His YouTube channel, which had around 8.3 or 8.5 million subscribers, and his Instagram account with about 2.9 million followers, can no longer be found online.
According to Google, a person with 8.5 million subscribers on YouTube can earn between $10,000 and $100,000 per month in Pakistan.
The sudden blackout prompted widespread speculation that the accounts had been banned, hacked or removed by the platforms. Some fans linked the disappearance to recent personal controversies involving the creator. But close associates of Rajab Butt say this is not the case.
YouTubers stance on Rajab Butt’s accounts
Zubair Ashraf
YouTuber Zubair Ashraf said that the simultaneous disappearance of all social media accounts of Rajab Butt suggests they were not removed by the platforms.
In his video, he argued that if a channel violates platform rules, action is usually taken on one service at a time. According to him, the more likely explanation is that Rajab Butts social media accounts were made private or temporarily deactivated by Rajab Butt himself.
Waleed Rauf
Another YouTuber, Waleed Rauf, also dismissed claims of hacking or bans. He said it is uncommon for all major platforms to suspend an account at the same time.
Rauf said that Rajab Butts’ social media accounts are not hacked. He may have chosen to step away from social media intentionally, possibly due to personal stress or controversy.
Rauf pointed to recent Instagram stories shared by Rajab Butt, which appeared to address family matters and relationship issues. Rauf said deactivating accounts can affect online reach and is usually a serious decision for a content creator with a large following.
Lala Rukh
The famous astrologer Lala Rukh, in a podcast on the YouTube channel, criticised Rajab Butt’s behaviour and discussed the ongoing controversy surrounding his marriage. She asked him to drop the arrogant behaviour, or else his career will end by May or June.
A voice note attributed to his wife, Eman, has also circulated on social media, in which she appeals for her child not to be dragged into family disputes.
She said he started his YouTube channel with the name Rajab Family. “Your immediate family is your child and your wife. They abandoned you, left you because you are not worth it,” she mentioned.
Previous controversies
Rajab Butt has been at the centre of several controversies in recent months. Last year, he faced legal action against alleged promotion of online gambling apps and was granted interim bail by a court in Lahore while investigations continue.
In March 2025, he was also booked under blasphemy and cybercrime laws after a perfume launch.
